May is set to establish a new record for monthly gross gaming revenue in Macau, according to Portuguese news agency Lusa.
Lusa quotes estimates from gaming operators Sands China and SJM Holdings pointing out that May should close with gross gaming revenue above MOP24 billion (US$3 billion).
That is almost 20 percent more than the previous record, MOP20.5 billion, established just last month.
Data gathered by the news agency indicates that for the first half of May, casino gross gaming revenue already surpassed MOP12 billion.
If such estimate is correct, this will be the forth consecutive month in which local casinos set a new record for gross gaming revenue.
